The resilience of the countries of Europeand Central Asia (ECA) was tested in2025 amid a challenging external envi-ronment marked by trade policy uncer-tainty, geoeconomic fragmentation, anda slow recovery in the European Union(EU). ECA's gross domestic product (GDP)grew by an estimated 2.6 percent in 2025,down from 4 percent in 2024. The decreasereflected the economic slowdown in theRussian Federation, ECA's largest econ-omy, which accounts for about 40 percentof the region's out
