Europe installed 8.8 GW of new wind power capacity in the first six months of 2026 (H1 2026). The EU-27 installed 7.1 GW of this. 74% of the new wind capacity built in Europe was onshore. 2.3 GW of new offshore wind power capacity was connected to the grid. Europe now has more than 311 GW of wind power capacity, 270.5 GW onshore and 40.9 GW offshore. The EU-27 accounts for nearly 252 GW of the total installed capacity, 228.4 GW onshore and 23.2 GW offshore. We expect Europe to install 148 GW
