This report examines how Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) considerations are currently being integrated into voluntary cooperation through the carbon market mechanisms established under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, particularly for Article 6.2 cooperative approaches, which are not centrally managed by the UNFCCC Secretariat. It reviews the current state of practice and captures perspectives from both the host (seller) country and buyer countries.
