On 27 October 2023, Germany reported to ECDC 46 cases of Salmonella Strathcona ST2559 infection since August 2023 (event ID 2023-FWD-00090 in EpiPulse, the European surveillance portal for infectious diseases). Of these cases, 28 were confirmed by whole genome sequencing (WGS). The cases occurred across multiple federal states in Germany. All age groups were affected, with a median age of 35 years.
