In the business environment, our analysis indicates two areas that may introduce challenges to LA’s economic growth. First, LA has seen a growing concentration of jobs in a narrower set of industries. However, this shift has not delivered the same pace of employment growth as the rest of the United States. Second, the cost and ease of doing business in LA remain high compared to peers, potentially making it difficult for both small and large businesses to grow and thrive.
