Productivity growth is at its lowest point in 60 years and our regulatory burden when compared to G7 nations ranks second highest (behind Japan). Our regulatory burden has grown significantly over time, driving up business costs. The volume of regulation has increased, and in response, businesses are diverting resources towards managing compliance, which can displace investment in other activities.
