Climate change has necessitated urgent, economy-wide transitions to clean energy sources. For India, promoting and facilitating the adoption of clean cooking fuels is a critical component of enabling a just energy transition, while also advancing universal energy access. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), access to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in India has increased significantly. As of 2022, the scheme had extended coverage to 104.1% of the eligible population (exceeding the ta
