On June 12th, the European Union announced an increase in tariffs on Battery Electric Vehicles imported from China. According to the release, should the discussions with Chinese authorities not lead to an effective solution, these proposed tariffs would be introduced from July 4 — with the individual duties announced at 17.4% for BYD (Buy), 20% for Geely (Not Covered), 38.1% for SAIC (Sell) and 21% for other Chinese BEV producers which cooperated in the investigation but have not been sampled
