Ghana’s coastal and marine environment form a critical foundation for national development, supporting fisheries, trade, tourism, energy production, climate regulation, and cultural heritage. Stretching across four administrative regions; it covers about 6% of the national land area yet supports more than a quarter of the country’s population, making it one of the most socio-economically and ecologically significant regions of the country (MLNR et al., 2015)
