In September 2015, the United Nations adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (‘the Agenda’), including the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Succeeding the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), the SDGs provide a comprehensive, integrated framework for global development, aiming to balance economic growth, social inclusion and environmental sustainability.
