Gender-based discrimination remains a persistent issue globally. Though there has been progress, women still face significant disadvantages relative to men. In politics, women are underrepresented in both leadership and participation. Women also participate less in the labour force, are more likely to have informal and unprotected employment, are paid less and spend more time on unpaid care and domestic work. At home or in their communities, about 1 in 3 women have experienced gender-based vi
