Wind energy is a part of the transition towards a circular economy for many reasons, mainly for producing clean, renewable energy with low environmental impact. A genuine circular economy would be powered in its entirety by renewable energy – creating a restorative and regenerative economic model. The paper summarizes the current situation in the wind industry and assesses future opportunities stemming from the circular economy.
