Since 2016, 15 key policy documents for improved RWWM have been issued by the central government of the PRC. These are found in Appendix 4. They include strategies, programs, action plans, guidelines on technical norms and standards, discharge standards, institutional arrangements, and guidance on encouraging the private sector to participate in providing RWWM services. There are no specific laws for rural domestic wastewater treatment at the national level in the PRC, but many provinces
