Definition number 7 of the RSTP introduces a new mechanism to determine the “protected period”, i.e. the time frame during which a breach of contract is subject to a sporting sanction against a club or player. It also reiterates the established rule that the protected period restarts when a contract is renewed and the duration of the previous contract is thereby extended. Additionally, a new definition number 44 is included: the concept of the “yearly fixed remuneration” of a player, which is
