This report explores the broad spectrum of contributions from generic medicines to European health systems, through an examination of their savings potential but also their role in supporting financial sustainability, increasing patient access, supply chain resilience, and better outcomes for patients. Although 70% of all medicines sold in Europe (by volume) are generics, the added societal value of these medicines beyond their cost-saving benefits has not often been discussed. This study aims t
